Tip for 16 mm field bottle strap
A sling tip for tropical gear. Designed for the narrow 16 mm strap used on coconut field bottles and other canteens of the Afrika Korps.
It was also used on Styrian gaiters of the mountain troops. It has a LUX stamp.
Easy to install: insert the sling inside and clamp the tip. Use masking tape to protect the paint during installation.

Pair with 16 mm webbing and the matching crocodile buckle to repair a coconut-type or other compatible tropical field-bottle harness. It can also finish a compatible Styrian mountain-troop gaiter strap; check the width of the original strap first.

Wartime coconut-type field bottles used webbing harnesses with metal-finished strap ends. A surviving HRE 1942 example has LUX-marked tips and a Patent Ritter suspension clip.
