A neat replica of the 18 mm buckle for German equipment. It was used as part of an assault pack, for tropical hunters, late (after 1943) bowler straps, and on gaiters of mountain rangers.
Buckles in grey paint. The maker stamp is v.H&Co. The dimensions are approximately 2x3 cm, the width of the opening is 19 mm, for an 18 mm sling.
It is not suitable for the field bottle strap, where another smaller buckle was used.

Merchandising tips
Use with matching 18 mm webbing and an 18 mm strap tip for an A-frame, mess-tin strap, shelter-quarter strap or compatible tropical equipment. This is the larger equipment buckle; choose the 16 mm model for a narrow field-bottle harness.
Historical reference
The German A-frame carried a mess tin and rolled shelter quarter on an infantryman's back. Both leather-strapped and all-webbing versions existed, with buckles securing their carrying straps.
